Avengers 4: Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger

16. Star-Lord

Avengers 4
Marvel Studios

Current Status: Dusted

His Avengers 4 Fate: Ah Quill. What did you do? Not only did you royally screw half of all life in the universe, but you've made it very hard for people like Tony, Doctor Strange and the rest of the Guardians to count on you in future movies. Smooth move!

In all fairness, Peter has always been an unstable character who's prone to emotional outbursts (the very first thing he does to Ego when he learns the true nature of his mother's death is shoot him) so his anger towards Thanos - and the fact that he couldn't hold it back - makes sense. This also sets Peter up nicely for Avengers 4, and makes it somewhat easy to predict his arc.

There's no way Marvel will leave Star-Lord in a position where fans can justifiably hate him, so in Avengers 4, he has to redeem himself in some way. He'll need to be un-dusted first, but he could prove essential in the demise of Thanos. If his actions in Infinity War condemned the universe, then his actions in Avengers 4 will save it, by being one of the main heroes who helps take the Mad Titan down.

And yes, he'll survive and continue on into Guardians Vol. 3. Ain't no way Star-Lord's going to die just yet!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
