Avengers 5: EVERY Major Rumour Ranked Worst To Best

Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff are dead, and Steve Rogers is retired, which straight away leaves just half of the original team left, but even these three may not return for Avengers 5. Clint will likely be retiring after passing the mantle onto Kate Bishop, as may Thor with Jane, and with Mark Ruffalo uncertain of his MCU future, there may be no original Avengers left.

There are several seemingly ready made replacements waiting in the wings, however. Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, T'Challa, Scarlet Witch, and Sam Wilson are all set to have a big impact on phase four and five of the MCU, and could easily play a part in the New Avengers.

But what about new characters entering the franchise in the next three years? While Shang-Chi, Blade, or any of the Eternals may be in line for a call up, there are rumours that Kit Harington's Black Knight will join this new iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The character has been affiliated with the team in the comics, and Kevin Feige hinted at the D23 Expo that Harington's role could evolve into something bigger.

Another character that has been rumoured to join the team is She-Hulk. Set to debut on Disney+, a casting call for Jennifer Walters has reportedly stated out right that the heroine will join the Avengers down the line. There could be any number of combinations to make up the New Avengers, but it seems that Dane Whitman and Jennifer Walters will be there.
