7. Maria Hill

A piece of casting that was know, but small enough many may miss it, is How I Met Your Mother's Cobie Smulders finally having escaped the eternal purgatory of Ted Mosby's awful storytelling to return to the MCU. She had a large role in The Avengers, Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D., but that character's circumstances have changed somewhat since the summer of 2012. In fact, she probably won't have the same title as before. Maria Hill was previously seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the same film that saw SHIELD come crashing down with the revelation that it had been infiltrated by nefarious HYDRA operative decades beforE. Which means there isn't any more S.H.I.E.L.D. for her to be Deputy Director of. To avoid getting stuck in prison with the rest of the agency (besides Nick Fury, who faked his death and quoted Pulp Fiction on his grave) she got a job at Stark Industries. She's partying with the Avengers in one trailer, so she's probably still working there.
