Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 11 Implications For Captain America: Civil War

1. Stark & Rogers Are (Surprisingly) Still On Good Terms...For Now

Perhaps the biggest shock in the whole movie is that Age of Ultron doesn't provide anywhere as near explicit a set-up for Civil War as most were expecting. Didn't practically everyone expect to see a relatively downbeat ending in which Stark and Rogers each head off with their own sides, with a tense, direct lead in to the war? Instead, Stark and Rogers end the movie on relatively chummy terms, burying the hatchet from earlier in the film even if they still fundamentally disagree on a number of issues. This of course means that the friendship needs to be crow-barred apart again at the start of Civil War, which depending on your viewpoint sounds like a tremendous waste of screen time or an exciting first-act prelude to the war itself. Either way, don't expect this peaceful period to last long, and if they're smart, the Russo Brothers will quickly establish Tony and Steve's animosity. What did you make of Avengers: Age of Ultron? What do you think of its set-ups for Captain America: Civil War? Shout it out in the comments!
