2. How Will The Guest Stars Play In?

Though not all entirely unexpected, the poster carries the names of four as yet unconfirmed returning characters, swelling the already massive cast even more. Idris Elba's appearance in Age Of Ultron shouldn't come as any surprise, since the actor leaked the information unwittingly during a conversation a while back, but it has so far been kept pretty tight that Anthony Mackie will reprise his role as Falcon for the sequel, and that Stellan Skarsgard is back to play Eric Selvig. Quite how they will play into the action remains to be seen: it makes sense that Selvig would be the "expert" the Avengers turn to when they discover Loki's sceptre has more power than they originally imagined, and Falcon will presumably play a part in the wider Avengers ensemble, similar to Don Cheadle's role as War Machine/The Iron Patriot. There's also confirmation from the credits that Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will feature - presumably in either a flashback sequence or a nightmare vision created by the Scarlet Witch to haunt Captain America. And Cobie Smulders' appearance makes sense since she's pretty much the only remaining member of SHIELD who wasn't outed as a HYDRA turncoat.
