9. Morgan Le Fay

Who Is She? Morgan le Fay is a powerful sorceress in Marvel Comics who is based loosely on the Morgan le Fay from Arthurian legend (indeed, she is Arthur's half-sister). She is immortal and has spent her life mastering the mystic arts and, as such, possesses powers like astral projection, mind-control, energy manipulation and blasts, illusion-casting, the creation of forcefields, flight and shape-shifting. She has been both an opponent of heroes like the Avengers and the lover of Doctor Doom. Why She'll Be Missed In the Age of Ultron comic book arc, le Fay appears after Wolverine and Sue Storm travel to the past and Wolverine kills Hank Pym there, preventing the creation of Ultron from occurring in the first place. When they return to the "present", they realise that doing so has altered the timeline drastically and Morgan le Fay is riding a large dragon, leading an army of Doombots (some of which are riding smaller dragons themselves). She is basically the personification of the fact that the new timeline - i.e. the one in which Hank Pym never existed - is no better than the one in which Ultron was created. The new present was the scene of a massive war between Latveria and Asgard which saw Thor disappear, Tony Stark horrifically injured and Morgana take over half of the world.
