6. Hawkeye & Black Widow's "Battle To The Death"

Black Widow and Hawkeye's (Jeremy Renner) role in the time heist sees them heading to Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone, and as anyone who's seen Infinity War knows, the Stonekeeper aka Red Skull (Ross Marquand), won't give it up without the sacrifice of a loved one.

Cue Natasha and Clint both vowing to lay down their lives for the greater good, leading to a most bizarre - and entertaining - battle as each attempts to stop the other from committing suicide.

Clint eventually makes a leap off the side of the cliff where Thanos threw Gamora (Zoe Saldana), but Natasha catches him and manages to tether him to the wall, while she hangs precariously from his hand.

Natasha then lets herself go, falling to her death much to Clint's chagrin, but also allowing him to receive the Soul Stone.

You can argue that Black Widow's death was a teensy bit anti-climactic, but the shock value speaks for itself, namely that Red Skull didn't intervene and reward them with the Soul Stone for their selflessness.
