5. New Avengers

The Avengers are gone. Long live the Avengers.

As Endgame's conclusion made clear, the Avengers in their original form are no more. With Iron Man dead, Steve Rogers retired and Thor off with the Guardians, the team's original nucleus is no more. Other characters like Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch are set to lead their own adventures on Disney+, but the former especially is unlikely to be a part of the Avengers having retired.

Be that as it may, the Avengers are far from over. Sure, they've outgrown the original concept, but the team should still exist. The likes of Black Panther, Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel are all shoe-ins to appear, but going about creating this new incarnation of the team should be left to someone else instead.

In the original comics, it was Ant-Man and the Wasp who suggested the Avengers should assemble. Both have a reverence for Cap and his ideals, and while it's still unclear as to what shape this new era will take, it would be great to see them slot into a new team alongside the likes of Spectrum and Kate Bishop's Hawkeye, along with various new additions in the years to come.
