Avengers: Endgame - 10 Scenes Everyone Expected To See (That Didn't Happen)

It didn’t seem like much of a coincidence that when Thanos snapped his fingers, the original six avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye) remained. The idea was that in order to save those who were snapped, the heroes would have to sacrifice their lives in order to avenge the fallen.

There wasn’t a clean swap like many had theorized, but the fate of the six still had many sacrificial moments. Natasha and Tony both sacrificed their life in order to bring back the vanished; Natasha threw herself off a cliff to allow Clint to receive the soul stone and Tony suffered severe radiation poisoning when he snapped away Thanos and his army.

Steve decided to live out his days with the woman he loves, Thor has decided to give up his title of ruler of the Asgardian people and join the Guardians of the Galaxy, Bruce will more than likely stay with the new crop of heroes, while Hawkeye will more than likely spend his time being with and cherishing his returned family.

Though it would have been highly poetic since each Avenger had lost someone they truly cared for in the snap, the sentiments of losing Tony, Nat, and Steve in the ways we did was much more rewarding for those who have followed them through their 22-film arc.
