Avengers: Endgame - 10 Scenes Everyone Expected To See (That Didn't Happen)
4. Quicksilver Returns
Before Endgame, the death of Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) was one of the most poignant in the saga; despite being introduced and killed in the same film. His sacrifice in Avengers: Age of Ultron saved the life of Clint and a young boy he himself was trying to save. We knew that the Avengers were going back in time to the Battle of New York, so going back to Sokovia wasn’t an implausible theory.
Set photos were leaked that revealed Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Hiddleston on the set of Avengers: Infinity War; both of whom had died in earlier installments of Avengers. We did get to see Hiddleston’s Loki as scenes were recreated showing the events of and after the Battle of New York, but no scenes featuring Quicksilver or Sokovia.
More than likely scenes were filmed but cut for time (again, more than understandable if the film’s already at 3 hours). Those Marvel fans who were excited enough for the final installment of the Infinity Saga felt duped when he never showed, but it at least taught us a good lesson in not letting tabloids read as scripture! Next time you hear of a scene or character supposedly being in an MCU film, be sure to take it with a grain of salt.
