4. Adam Warlock

Yeah, remember him? The being of near unlimited power teased during the Guardians of the Galaxy II post-credits sequence? Yeah? Big gold lad called Adam? Not actually me? Yeah you know who I mean.

So much has happened elsewhere in the MCU that it’s sort of become a forgotten plot thread since 2017, but many fans expected to see some hints of the character during the Infinity War storyline. It would take an entire article to explain Warlock’s history but it’s enough to say that, in the comics, he’s crossed paths with Thanos, Gamora, the Soul Stone and the Infinity Gauntlet itself on a number of occasions.

While Infinity War has been and gone, the story is still far from complete. There is still plenty of scope to introduce Warlock as an important player in the demise (or otherwise) of Thanos, and his existing connection to the Guardians of the Galaxy means that it makes some narrative sense.

Plus with one eye on Phase 4, it makes sense to establish the big players here for a small splash of continuity.
