2. Deleted Scene: The Avengers Bow To A Fallen Iron Man

Easily the best deleted scene that didn't make it into the final film is the devastating moment where, after Tony Stark dies, the surviving Avengers all bow down on one knee to honour the fallen hero.

It's a tremendously affecting moment, aided by Alan Silvestri's sweeping orchestral score, and in the interest of answering an ongoing mystery, also shows the 2014 Gamora (Zoe Saldana) walking off on her lonesome.

Perhaps the Russos were worried that they were over-egging the emotion here, given that fans also get a subsequent funeral scene.

Granted, in lesser hands and with a less-satisfying payoff the scene could've played as corny, but it's also easy to see how much fans would've loved this scene being included in the final cut - which, admittedly, is damn long enough as it is.
