Avengers Endgame: 6 Things You Need To Know About Ronin
5. In The Comics, Hawkeye Became Ronin After Civil War
As we saw in the movie, Clint Barton lost his Hawkeye persona during the idealistic conflict between Captain America and Tony Stark. But the same thing also happened in the comics.
We already know that the Russo Brothers and other such Marvel Studios masterminds like to draw from certain comic book elements and fill in the gaps with their own ideas. During Infinity War, Clint was supposedly under house arrest following the Sokovia Accord backlash of Captain America: Civil War.
Like that was ever going to happen. None of us believed that if Scott Lang was compelled to rebel, Clint was going to be good and stay out of trouble.
After the events of Civil War, and Clint's outspoken disregard for Tony Stark's future plans for the Avengers, the Hawkeye mantra was well and truly redundant. So what better way to fool the governmental powers than by taking on a new alias, and one which shrouded a person's true identity.
In keeping with this idea, a new fighting style would also be necessary, hence the scrapping of Barton's synonymous bow and arrow.
