Despite many fans expecting the Avengers to effectively undo Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap as though it never happened, Endgame's time travel logic works a little differently to that.

By the end of the film, the MCU is now set in 2023, and though every dusted entity in the universe has been brought back to life, they're all effectively "out of time", having not aged a minute during the five years where they were wiped out of existence.

It's an interesting idea that presents some neat storytelling possibilities moving forward, though it also creates one rather awkward issue in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Given that Far From Home's trailers make it clear that most if not all of Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) classmates from the first film will return without ageing, we can assume that they were also victims of the Decimation.

Uh, isn't that pretty damn convenient?

The film will likely feature a joke or two in an attempt to hand-wave the issue, but there's no getting around the convoluted narrative chicanery required to accept that not a single of Peter's known pals survived the snap.

It's possible Far From Home's trailers were cut to mislead audiences ahead of Endgame's release, but it's looking increasingly like Marvel is just hoping that audiences won't think about it too much.
