10. Black Widow

There are lots of people who believe that Black Widow was screwed by Avengers: Endgame because she was unceremoniously killed off and then barely anyone even gave her a second thought (even though Tony got an entire funeral service) other than Hawkeye. Harsh.

But the reality is that Natasha had an interesting arc that mirrored Tony's - in that she couldn't turn her back on heroism even when it broke her - and her story brought earlier plot-threads full circle. Her relationship with Clint played out to an emotional, satisfying end (as she saved him from himself and then gave him his life back) and then her sacrifice meant she finally got to atone for the red in her ledger that has plagued her entire MCU arc.

You're only annoyed at her death because nobody guessed it was coming.

9. Rocket Raccoon

The smallest Guardian Of The Galaxy and accidental Build-A-Bear mascot is an interesting elevated side character who steals scenes every now and then with his usual acerbic put-downs (and his destruction of one tense moment with a well-placed BOO said everything about Marvel's fondness for messing with us).

His relationship with Thor is very rewarding and while he's mostly a passenger in the final battle - because he's grouped with Bucky in the "we have guns" squad. And the image of him diving onto Groot to protect him is one of the most beautiful little character reveals of the film - it's almost like a heart-warming betrayal of his true nature even as he keeps up his gruff facade.
