Avengers: Endgame - Everything You Need To Know About Black Knight

2. Marvel May Be Teasing It With Their Comics

Although Conrad's claim that Black Knight would appear in the MCU had no known source or even evidence, an interesting development has emerged in the weeks since, and it's all thanks to Marvel themselves.

Since the MCU exploded onto the scene in 2008, Marvel Comics have went to great lengths to cash in on the popularity of those films. They've made changes to the comics based on certain portrayals from the big screen, and have reprinted numerous comics to tie into certain releases too, with Jim Starlin and George Perez's Infinity Gauntlet even going on to become the top-selling graphic novel of 2018.

So, with that in mind, it stands to reason that the publisher will want to do the same with Endgame. Fortunate for us, it was recently revealed that the company would be making a new wave of their 'True Believer' series, which are reprints of classic issues set to hit shelves at the same time Endgame hits theatres.

As noted by Newsarama, two of the issues scheduled to release are reprints of Avengers #71 and #343, the first of which is even titled "Endgame!". That issue also saw the introduction of Black Knight to the team, while #343 sees the character fighting the Swordsman, the man who trained Clint Barton.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
