10. What Has Hawkeye Been Up To?

Suspiciously absent from Infinity War, to the point where fans successfully got the hashtag 'Where's Hawkeye' trending on Twitter, the location of Marvel's signature archer during the events of the past Avengers movie was a global talking point.

Sure, the film kind of explains his absence by saying he and Scott Lang cut a deal to be with their families, but he didn't enjoy his own solo movie to fully explain just what he'd been through like Ant-Man did, and it was up to Endgame to fill in those blanks.

Fortunately, it did just that straight away, revealing in the opening scene that Clint's entire family were casualties in the Decimation. For the next five years, Hawkeye became Ronin, a merciless vigilante hunting and killing criminals, until he was brought back into the fold by Black Widow.
