3. Captain Marvel Appears

The stinger at the end of the trailer is clearly the reason why Marvel have chosen to release this trailer now. On the back of an incredible early box office performance by Captain Marvel, they've identified an opportunity to hype Endgame up even more thanks to that extra Carol footage and it absolutely works a treat. It will probably also help whip up even more excitement for that film too, to be honest, particularly as it confirms something to anyone who hasn't seen it about when Marvel turns up in Endgame.

As the post-credits of her own film confirmed, she appears right at the start of Endgame, which should be exciting even for those who haven't yet gone out of their way to see her movie. And including her in the trailer to reiterate that actually helps confirm to any unsure fans that they do need to see Captain Marvel.

The footage we do see of Marvel shows her interacting with Thor in a fun way (even if it sort of unnecessarily stokes the shipping fires when her own movie carefully avoided making her a romantic figure). If you had to gamble, don't think that they'll be a couple: Thor likes warriors and that's more likely what he's responding to.

It's not the only new dynamic that looks good either: if you're not here for War Machine and Rocket teaming up in a heavy artillery duo, you don't know what entertainment is. (Also, what price on them being the ones who rescure Tony and Nebula?
