Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Characters That Might Beat Thanos

9. Wanda Maximoff (The Scarlet Witch)

In the comic books, Scarlet Witch is a reality warping mutant/actual witch with powers so high up on the scale that she once wiped almost every mutant off the face of reality just by saying "No more mutants." Of course they all got better and then died countless times again since that happened, but the point is that she is up there on the list of people who are not to be trifled with. We've only just met Elizabeth Olsen's version of the Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age Of Ultron after she received her powers from the Mind Stone, but she has already shown a knack for being able to wreck just about anybody who upsets her. The average movie goer might not have noticed it all during the movie's final action sequence with so much going on, but she was shown completely dissolving crowds of Ultron's bots and even managed to tear apart Ultron's Vibranium armor after the death of her brother. While none of that indicates that Wanda will be some sort of end game force that the Avengers use to take down Thanos, it does lay the groundwork by showing that Wanda is more than just some telekinesis user. With Doctor Strange on his way to the Cinematic Universe, it isn't too crazy to think that the magic component to Scarlet Witch's character will be expanded upon by the time Thanos arrives in Infinity Wars. If Scarlet Witch really ends up being the one to bring down Thanos, then I suspect that it will come about from Thanos using the Infinity Gauntlet to bring Quicksilver back from the dead to taunt her.
