2. The Soul Stone Wasn't On Wakanda

The biggest mystery leading up to Infinity War concerned the location of the Soul Stone. While the rest of the power gems were accounted for, this one was purposefully kept a secret, leading to a bevy of fan predictions as to where - or who - the soul stone could be.

Rumours spread from Hawkeye somehow having it to it literally being Tony Stark, but the most prevailing one was that it was hidden away on Wakanda. The trailers obviously pointed to the setting being an integral part of the movie, with Captain America and his troop of Avengers defending the country from Thanos' invasion, which fuelled the presumption of the location being the resting place of the final Infinity Stone.

Thankfully, the real location of the gem wasn't as predictable as that, and it's safe to stay that just about nobody could have guessed where it was and who was guarding it. That's for the best though, as Thanos' search for the stone is probably the greatest part of the movie, and easily the most emotional.
