Avengers: Infinity War: 10 Things That Must Happen

8. Bucky And Tony Resolve Their Drama

Infinity War Death
Marvel

The MCU is packed full of outstanding plot threads (The Incredible Hulk's Dr. Sterns, anyone?) but as far as Infinity War is concerned, this particular one could cause some serious narrative issues if it isn't addressed. Since the film is supposed to feature the MCU's entire slate of heroes teaming up to fight Thanos, they all need to be on the same side - but Bucky and Tony could not be further apart if they tried.

It's been confirmed that Sebastian Stan (the actor who plays Bucky) is returning for Infinity War - his character is currently in Wakanda with Captain America and Black Panther, and with those two surely set to face Thanos it's safe to assume Bucky will tag along for the ride.

So how are Marvel going to bring him together with Iron Man - a manly nod, or a handshake? That would undercut the huge emotional reveal at the end of Civil War - and the fight that followed - entirely. To brush it off would be a grave mistake.

Yes, one of the best things about watching a Marvel movie is the spectacle, but that shouldn't be at the expense of character moments, and logic - in reality, Tony and Bucky would most definitely need to resolve their conflict before any 'teaming-up' can take place. Their interconnected past was one of the biggest revelations in the history of the MCU, and it needs to be given the resolution that it deserves.
