1. Kang The Conqueror
Kang the Conqueror first appeared in Marvel comics as a time traveler from the 30th century. As his name suggests, the character's main goal was to conquer the galaxy. His conquest largely relies on his advanced technology and an extensive knowledge of history which he uses to rule past civilisations. It is generally accepted that Infinity War will be the climax of everything that has happened so far in the MCU and will therefore need to set up the Phase Four of the franchise. Among other things, it will need to introduce the next major villain to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to suggestions of Thane or Death taking on this role, Kang is one of the most popular characters to take on the role of the next big villain. Kang recently featured in the comics' Time Runs Out story, where he tried to gain control of the Time Gem. Kang could be introduced in a similar way for Infinity War as a competitor to Thanos and the Collector. Alternatively, he could initially assist the Avengers, stopping Thanos so that he can later take control of the galaxy himself. One of Kang's main motivations for visiting the present is to ensure that his future comes to pass. An earlier version of Kang was Iron Lad, who was a founding member of the Young Avengers. With more and more heroes cropping up, the introduction of Kang could also lead to the appearance of his younger self as part of a team of teenage heroes in Phase Four.
