Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Villains (Other Than Thanos) That Could Appear
10. The Cull Obsidian
Over the years, Marvel comics has featured a variety of groups and individuals that have assisted Thanos. One of the most recent, and interesting, of these was the Cull Obsidian. Also known as the Black Order, the Cull were a group of six warriors recruited by Thanos to lead his invasion of Earth during 2013's Infinity event. The team included husband and wife duo Corvius Glave and Proxima Midnight, the manipulative Ebony Maw and the powerhouse Black Dwarf. Like the Avengers, each member of the team had their own strengths and weaknesses, and were deployed for different purposes. One of the difficulties of an ensemble comic book movie is having an appropriate ratio of villains to heroes. Avengers Assembled had most of the cast fighting each other before introducing Loki's army. Age of Ultron gave the villain multiple robot bodies, and introduced Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, so that the different Avengers would have someone to fight. With a steadily increasing roster of heroes, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to need to introduce a number of secondary villains just to keep things even. By introducing the Cull Obsidian to the MCU, each member of the Avengers could be given a specific opponent to fight. A large-scale fight scene between Thanos and the assembled Avengers is all but inevitable, at least in Infinity War: Part 2. But creating a series of smaller one-on-one battles would give the individual members of the team a chance to really shine on screen.
With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
