Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Villains (Other Than Thanos) That Could Appear

3. Death

Thanos's endless conquest of the universe in Marvel comics goes much further than simply wanting to rule the galaxy. In addition to craving ultimate power he has another, weirder motivation; he is in love with Mistress Death, the embodiment of death in the comic book universe. Thanos started by destroying his home planet in an effort to impress Death. When that failed, he began planning to kill a third of the universe in order to get her attention. And they say romance is dead. The MCU hasn't really explored Thanos' motivations in any great detail. For now, all we know for certain is that he is trying to collect the Infinity Gems. The character's physical size implies that he would be more than a physical match for the Avengers, and the size of his army in Avengers Assemble indicates that he already has a significant amount of influence in the galaxy. But whether the upcoming films will touch on his relationship with Death remains to be seen. With films such as Dr Strange potentially moving the franchise into more esoteric areas, Mistress Death could also be a potential antagonist, or the motivation behind another villain, in the future of the MCU. Of course, the sheer power of Mistress Death means that she is unlikely to be a proper villain in the MCU. Not only could she kill the Avengers on a whim, but there is nothing that any of them could do to harm her. At the same time, the character in the comics doesn't really care about Thanos or what he does. She is so far beyond Thanos, and the other characters, that it is rare for any of their actions to concern her.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
