10. Namor Turns Up

Even though the cast is already fairly bloated, there's a pretty big suspicion that Infinity War will include a couple of shocks when it comes to characters turning up. There have been suggestions that Quicksilver might be revived, or that Betty Ross could reappear, but even more world-changing would be the debut of Namor.

Way back in Iron Man 2, the Sub-Mariner's existence was seemingly teased, and while the trail has mostly gone dry, there have been some whispers that Marvel are finally ready to do something with him.

The problem for a long time was that complex rights issues seemingly made that impossible - which is precisely why him turning up would be so surprising. There have also been hints that Marvel now own Namor's rights, and Marvel CCO Joe Quesada seemingly stoked the fires of rumour at Comic Con. When he was asked directly if Namor would be showing up in Infinity War he deliciously responded: “I cannot confirm or deny, sir.”

Given that he absolutely COULD have denied, that's an interesting thing to say. And in a purely logical sense, if Thanos is threatening the entire universe, this would be the perfect time for concerned civilizations to pop up, even if they've been conspicuously secretive so far.
