Avengers: Infinity War - 12 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

6. Red Skull Is Revived

Even when Red Skull was teleported into nothingness by the Tesseract at the end of The First Avenger, it was widely assumed that he would shrug it off as a mild inconvenience and return to face Captain America again. Sadly, Hugo Weaving decided he wasn't actually a fan of the MCU and bowed out of the role rather acrimoniously and any possible return seemed dead in the water.

The focus on the Winter Soldier arc seemed to end any possibility of a revival of the iconic character in the immediate future, and it's looked like a once-and-out sort of deal ever since, particularly with Chris Evans coming to the end of his MCU contract.

But the fact that Red Skull was teleported away rather than killed is an almighty loose end in the MCU, and bringing him back - with another actor under the make-up - would be an easy way to get a big reaction out of fans. It would also be a rather ingenious way of killing of Captain America if that's the way they decide to go.
