12. The Collector

Last Time

The last time we saw Benicio Del Toro's Collector in Guardians Of The Galaxy, he'd just seen most of his beloved collection destroyed thanks to the Power Stone being used by his misguided (and suicidal assistant). At that point, he was pretty much one of the most powerful people in the galaxy, with two Infinity Stones in his possession, though his interest in them seemed to be more to do with having them than using them.

And while the Guardians took the Power Stone away, he still has the Space Stone from when the Warriors Three took the Aether to him at the end of Thor: The Dark World.

Now

The Collector is going to go through a serious and possibly fatal change pretty quickly in Infinity War, because the one thing that he is now that he wasn't previously is a target for Thanos. After the Mad Titan takes out Xandar to pick up the Power Stone, he's coming for the Collector's prized Stone and it's unlikely he's going to ask nicely.

So on top of no longer having much of a collection, he's probably going to be a fugitive rather than one of the most powerful characters in the MCU, and he's probably not long for this world. That's a fairly abrupt change.
