Avengers: Infinity War - 8 Compelling Hints Iron Man Will Die (& 4 He Won't)

Why He Won't Die

4. He Needs His Reunion With Captain America

Though they shared a loaded moment at the end of Captain America: Civil War in which some of their wounds seemed to be mended by the truth of Bucky's condition, neither Iron Man nor Cap can be allowed to leave their MCU roles behind without having a proper reunion.

Right now, it feels like the Avengers are still torn apart by the schism formed in Civil War and the only way to defeat Thanos is to work together. It wasn't accidental that the first trailer for Infinity War started with a reiteration of the value of the team, nor was it that the characters working alone makes them look more vulnerable. Marvel WANT us to yearn for them all to be back together, because it's the only answer to ending Thanos' conquest.

And seeing the two poles of the MCU coming back together will be the final resolution to that idea, which definitely isn't happening in Infinity War. By the look of it, the pair don't even meet, which means it has to happen in Avengers 4 and with Cap likely dead by then, it makes no sense for them both to be (even with the time travel element).
