Avengers: Infinity War - Every Character Confirmed So Far

Confirmed By: Both the Infinity War screenwriters and Benedict Cumberbatch himself have confirmed that Doctor Strange will be appearing. How much of him will actually be played by Cumberbatch remains to be seen though, as reports have suggested that the actor’s body double is standing in for him while his schedule is too busy.

He's obviously key too, because his Eye Of Agamotto is an Infinity Stone and will thus bring him into conflict with Thanos.

Plot Predictions: At some point, Thanos is going to learn that the Sorcerors have the Time Stone and he's going to go and collect it. That doesn't necessarily mean Doctor Strange will meet him, since the Eye is back in Kamar-Taj and Strange is stationed at the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York, so it might be that they avoid the two powerful characters coming together too early.

We know Strange will be teaming up with Thor and Loki in Thor: Ragnarok to help find Odin, so that's likely to be his in-point with the Avengers, and his knowledge of the Time Stone will no doubt be an invaluable weapon against Thanos.
