4. Gamora

Gamora's arc in Infinity War is one of the biggest surprises and leads to the most emotionally devastating sequences in the entire MCU to date.

After Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, it looked like we'd be getting a closer look at Nebula's relationship with Thanos, but it's actually Gamora who takes centre-stage as we get a look at her backstory and a real indication that she's not just Thanos' favourite pet but the object of actual love.

That relationship is wonderful for adding another layer of complexity to Thanos as it humanises him and makes his monstrous actions seem all the more perverse. And Zoe Saldana's performance is one of the best in the film as she wrestles with her own affection for her father.
