Avengers: Infinity War Vs Avengers: Endgame - Which Is Better?

10. The Villain

This is an interesting one to consider given that the villains in both movies are the same (well, sort of).

Infinity War does an astounding job finally living up to over five years of anticipation for Thanos, and thanks to sharp writing and an incredible Josh Brolin performance, the Mad Titan instantly became one of the greatest superhero movie villains ever.

If Infinity War was more Thanos' movie than the heroes', Endgame is the opposite, relegating Thanos to a smaller role, and one where he's surprisingly killed early on, only to be replaced by a 2014 version of himself for the remainder.

WINNER: Infinity War and it's not even close, but this is clearly by design. Infinity War delved deep into Thanos' characterisation and devoted much of its screen time to quiet, dialogue-driven scenes centred around him, while Endgame kept his chatter to a minimum and mostly focused on him as a physical threat.

The key difference, however, is that Thanos in Endgame wouldn't be particularly interesting without being informed by everything we first saw in Infinity War.
