Avengers: Infinity War - What Is Next For EVERY Character
5. Thor
Fate: Survived
The God Of Thunder ALMOST made the save right at the end of Infinity War and while he should have aimed for the head, the key thing to take from Thor's attack on Thanos is that Stormbreaker actually lived up to the billing Eitri gave it. In other words, it's a genuine Titan killer.
Thor is likely to play a major role in Avengers 4 as the story concentrates on the original Avengers to give them a final swansong. Unfortunately, that also sounds like they're possibly going to be killed off, but Thor has the fact that he needs to find a home for Asgard's survivors, so he MIGHT well be spared.
4. Captain America
Fate: Survived
One of the biggest surprises of the entire film saw Captain America survive the events of Infinity War to fight another day, even though he stood up to Thanos individually. He may well still get his chance to lay down his life in Avengers 4, but it looks as though we're going to see another version of Cap altogether when the heroes jump back in time.
It's hard to see past Cap being killed by Thanos - or giving up his life so that someone else can live - as that absolutely fits both his arc and the fact that Chris Evans appears to be done with the character.
3. Iron Man
Fate: Survived
As with Captain America, Tony Stark seeing the end of Avengers 4 unscathed would be a huge surprise, but he might well be saved by the fact that Marvel may see Stark as the perfect character to bring a bit of a financial boost to new properties (as he did with Homecoming) in the future.
But in story terms, Tony's death looks assured. His whole arc so far has been focused on him being willing to give up everything to save humanity (he's even tried to sacrifice himself once already) and though he's had a death fake-out in Infinity War, that doesn't mean he won't get another chance.
Him giving up his life to save Spider-Man would be perfect, as it would also give Peter Parker a new Uncle Ben figure.
