Prediction: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Star Wars: The Force Awakens picked up an unexpected (and frankly, undeserved) win here last year against the superior likes of Ex Machina, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Martian, and it's clear that the VFX branch has a special place in its heart for the Star Wars franchise.

Expect Rogue One to steal the win from The Jungle Book this year, even with the divisiveness of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher's CGI likenesses.

Should It Win?: Not a chance. The aforementioned Cushing and Fisher models were more off-putting than believable, and The Jungle Book did such a magnificent job with its CGI animals that it should really be the easy victor here.
