Prediction: 13TH
BAFTA tends to veer towards British talent when it comes to the documentary field, but it'll also be extremely tough to ignore the sledgehammer force of Ava DuVernay's film about America's unbalanced prison system.
Plus, it's been available on Netflix for months, so voters didn't have to wait for their screener to arrive in the mail.
Should It Win: There's some fantastic competition here (especially Weiner and Notes on Blindness), but 13TH is easily the best of the bunch, a shattering documentary that deserves to be shown in schools and watched by just about everyone with a conscience.
