BAFTAs 2017: Predicting Every Winner

21. Best Original Screenplay

La La Land BAFTA
Summit Entertainment

Prediction: La La Land (Damien Chazelle)

La La Land certainly has a lot of momentum heading towards awards season's finish line, and with its screenplay winning awards from the Golden Globes and Broadcast Film Critics Association, as well as a pending nomination from the Writers Guild of America, it wouldn't be surprising to see BAFTA jump in with both feet to support the movie on all fronts.

Should It Win: Definitely not, and honestly it's quite strange as the script is probably the worst thing about the movie.

All the other competitors (Moonlight, I Daniel Blake, Manchester by the Sea and Hell or High Water) have stronger scripts, but when voters love a film, they tend to be blinded and vote for it excessively.
