The journey to the Oscars is almost complete, and most big winners are pretty much locked-in at this point, but before the March 4th ceremony takes place, the British get to have their say with the BAFTAs.

This year's ceremony wasn't full of surprises or a particularly remarkable show for the ages - with many on social media calling it "boring" and "predictable" - but it's still hard to deny that some of the year's very best films and talents were duly rewarded.

It was a mixed show, for sure, with BAFTA making mostly safe awards choices and not doing anything particularly adventurous, yet there were some wonderfully heartfelt speeches and one show-stealing moment that became the night's most talked-about moment.

The BAFTAs may feel like a mere formality on the road to the Academy Awards, and the stars were disappointingly sober this year, but they still got more right than they didn't.
