BAFTAs 2018: 7 Ups & 6 Downs

1. Ridley Scott's BAFTA Fellowship Speech

The night concluded with Ridley Scott receiving a BAFTA Fellowship for his immense body of work over four decades, after which he gave a terrific speech about his life and times, from being the worst-performing student in his class, to dropping a subtle masturbation joke ("woodwork...yes, woodwork"), championing the importance of education and paying tribute to his late brother Tony.

Considering how Scott has consistently been an awards bridesmaid and won almost nothing in terms of major plaudits despite countless nominations, it was great to see him having his well-deserved time to shine on the BAFTA podium.
