BAFTAs 2020: 10 Ups & 5 Downs

6. Brad Pitt's Hilarious Best Supporting Actor Speech

To the surprise of few, Brad Pitt scooped the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA for his fantastic performance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but because he had "family obligations" to attend to, he couldn't make it to the ceremony and sent his co-star Margot Robbie to the stage instead.

Robbie read a note from Pitt, where he promptly made fun of the current state of Britain, namely the Brexit debacle. He said, "Hey Britain. Heard you just became single. Welcome to the club! Wishing you the best for the divorce settlement."

But Pitt didn't stop there, including a gentle rib for the Royals in his speech. As read by Robbie, Pitt said that he's going to name his BAFTA Harry because "he's really excited about bringing it back to the States with him."

In this delicate time for Remainers, a little gallows humour goes a long way.
