Batman: 10 Best Batmobiles Outside Of The Comics

7. Batman: The Brave And The Bold (2008-2011)

The gothic gloominess of both Batman and the city he protects is one of the character's main selling points, setting him apart from his colourful peers like The Flash and Green Lantern. But the golden age of DC comics could be very silly indeed, and there's no better modern tribute to such delightfully fun corniness than Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

This show is not afraid for a second to dig out DC's most ridiculous characters - the likes of Crazy Quilt and Polka-dot Man - and pit them against the grey-and-blue-wearing Batman of old. And the Batmobile that features in the series is quite the mix of comic and non-comic incarnations that have come before it.

The giant bat face on the front grill is, of course, an homage to some of the very first Batmobile designs, while the bubbled cockpit and red lines along the wheel arches are reminiscent of Adam West's classic TV automobile from the 1960s.

Combine those with a shiny modern frame and you have a machine fit to ferry the Caped Crusader wherever his hammers of justice need doling out.
