Batman 4: 10 Reasons Warner Bros Would Be Crazy To Reboot

10. We Can Wait

Probably the most attractive possible outcome for this entire situation would be for the current Batman time-line to be picked up in ten years time or so, with an older Bruce Wayne returning to take his role back up after some jarring event draws him back into the great Gotham game. Fans might immediately complain at the idea of a ten year hiatus, BUT, that isn't the whole story, thanks to the last point in this list: a JLA movie, or a couple if the first is successful, could quite easily plug the gap and give fans of Batman a bit of what they want without the property flaming out with too many films in too short a time. And ten years is a long time in film-making terms: Peter Jackson said he wouldn't helm the Hobbit project, and yet he is set to release all three (or twelve or however many he decides to release in the end), and his u-turn is by no means the only one in Hollywood history. The potential promise of Christian Bale returning to the Bat-suit after a ten or fifteen year absence is extremely alluring, not only because of the fans' reception of Bale, but also because of the size of the narrative event it would take to bring his Bruce Wayne back to Gotham. That would provide the script-writers with the sort of challenge that would hopefully guarantee an excellent film to herald Batman's real return - and that would surely be better than a reboot that plays out the same story again and again. So, there you have it - what do you think Batman fans? Would you prefer to see Nolan's iteration of the Batman universe continue, or do you want to see a whole new reboot?
