Batman: 80 Greatest Ever Moments
26. Taking Down The White Martians - Justice League: New World Order
Grant Morrison's understanding of the Dark Knight is second-to-none, so when it came time to write the character as he mingled with gods and monsters in the JLA, he knew how to make him stand out.
With the rest of the Justice League captured by White Martians, and his opponents vastly underestimating his capabilities, Batman devises a solution to defeating the alien menace and save his friends.
The perfect way of emphasising that Batman's 'just a man', but that he's still no less super than his colleagues.

25. Bruce Wayne Accepts Batman - Batman: Ego
Darwyn Cooke's Ego is one of the finest Batman stories of all time, and the authoritative analysis of the Dark Knight's inner workings. The late creator's talent was second-to-none, with Ego exemplifying his illustrative and narrative prowess in each and every panel.
Terrorised by a criminal he couldn't save, Bruce is forced to confront his inner demon to decide whether he can keep his war going. It answers the age-old question of which half of the character is the real mask, and it does so by taking a deep dive into Bruce's history.
The answer itself is so satisfying, and affirms in no uncertain terms that Bruce Wayne and Batman are one and the same; you can't take away one without losing the other.
