Batman: Every Main Live-Action Movie Suit Ranked

9. Batman & Robin (1997)

Batman Costumes
Warner Brothers

Now comes one of the most hated interpretations of the Batman.

Most aspects of the film George Clooney appears in are deeply loathed by fans of Gotham's Defender. However, the suit Clooney wears does have its uses. Firstly, it isn't made of cloth like the original suits were, so that's an improvement. Even though it's rubbery, Mr. Wayne is better protected during engagements with enemies, and the wrist-mounted Grapple Gun allows him get places he couldn't otherwise go. Those are nice features, but it's about all this suit has going for it.

The list of problems with this costume is long, but chief among them is the fact that it's designed to look like a Greek god. It fits tightly over Bruce and looks as if it is supposed to be his skin. The prominent nipples are the worst offender in terms of visual presentation, but a close second is that fact that the Bat symbol is dull and hard to see.

Almost everything about this suit feels out of place. It's regrettable that it has more functionality than the previous three suits, because it looks much, much worse.
