Batman Future Films: 8 Big Questions That Demand Answers
7. How Heavily Will Batman Be Involved In The Justice League?
The Avengers may have made it to the big screen first, but it is the Justice League who are generally considered to be the world's number one superhero team. This is mainly due to the fact that the group is filled with characters whose powers border on the god-like. Except for Batman, that is. Anyone who has ever read a comic book knows that our beloved bat can't fly, or outrun a speeding locomotive, or convince Wonder Woman to take off her pants and dance around for him in a single bound. Instead he relies on his freakish intelligence and snazzy gadgets to get the job done. Because of this, in many of the Justice League's adventures he has acted as something of a mastermind figure, coordinating strategies and plans of attack rather than getting involved in the fisticuffs himself. While this has been how it generally plays out in the comics, however, that doesn't necessarily mean that this is how it will be on film. With Batman being such an established film character it seems unlikely that he will be sitting in the batcave drinking cocoa and flipping through batcatalogues while his best buds shed their blood for the planet. It is important to note that Batman is expected to fight Superman in the Batman Vs. Superman film (ala The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel), meaning that we are going to be seeing a version of Batman who is physically capable of matching it with DC's heavy hitters (most likely with the assistance of some upgraded gadgets and armor). Whether he plays the role of the brainy thinker or decides to join the fray will go a long way to shaping the dynamic of the Justice League, and probably the DC universe as a whole.
