Batman: Ranking Every Movie Batsuit From Worst To Best

16. The First Serial Suit (1943)

Robert Pattinson The Batman
Warner Bros.

Pros: Better fitting than its 1949 equivalent. Functional looking utility belt.

Cons: The logo is a little on the small side and the ear game is a little bit odd. Devil-like, actually.

For the first attempt at getting Batman to the big screen, the initial 15-chapter serials didn't do a wholly awful job of the costume. Again, it stretched no budgets, it had limited frills (aside from those lovely elbow spikes) and it wouldn't have actually been any good in a fight.

But this was a different era, when the costume was all about being fabulous and making an impact. And it certainly did that, scoring easy popularity by virtue of being the first in its category.
