Batman Reboot: 10 Essential Villains And Who Should Play Them

1. Hush - Jude Law

I was initially going to choose The Riddler, and many may argue why he isn€™t on this list. I felt that he was too akin to the Joker and Hugo Strange. He possessed the strangeness of Joker and the mental abilities of Strange. Personally, I think The Riddler is a little too €œcartoony€ and €œhokey." He could definitely be grittier and made darker but the challenge he serves Batman mentally can be given by Strange or even Hush and Joker. Hush, Tommy Elliot, was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne€™s His parents, who were also wealthy, were friends of the Wayne€™s. Tommy, however, was a cruel child. He planned his parents€™ deaths to acquire their wealth. His father died but his plan failed when Thomas Wayne performed surgery and saved his mother€™s life. Elliot blamed Bruce. He had to wait years to attain his fortune, waiting for his mother to die from cancer. As an adult he became a surgeon and began planning an elaborate multi-faceted scheme, involving the utilization and partnership with Batman€™s rogues€™ gallery, too exact revenge on Bruce. He€™s a villain who has such a close connection to Bruce. It would make for a harrowing trilogy seeing as how I believe his attack should span a trilogy. Additionally, Riddler is a patsy of his during his battle with Batman. I would like to see that on film but, not in such a huge capacity. At the point he uses Riddler, he€™s a drunk and not really significant. And Jude Law is an amazing actor who is known to be a huge comic book fan. I think it€™s time he brought his talents to the comic book movie realm. He€™s a proven actor who€™s had many great performances in various movies. He even favors Tommy Elliot as he€™s drawn in the comics. The Talented Mr. Ripley, Road to Perdition, Cold Mountain and A.I.: Artificial Intelligence are all films that showcase his immense talent. I just think he€™s perfect for this role. His being a comic book fan makes it all the better. There you have it. I€™m open to opinions. I love criticism. Please leave your comments and arguments. I love feedback, especially from avid comic book and Batman fans like myself.
