Batman & Robin: 10 Reasons It's Criminally Underrated

8. Uma Thurman

4 Uma Thurman was a part of Batman and Robin that approached the level of good. She came the closest to understanding the level of camp that could have actually translated to a live action screen. Thurman€™s performance as Poison Ivy was fully committed. She understood the character. She was seductive, which is doubly impressive when you consider some of the ridiculous styling options they made for her. She was also a legitimate threat. Among two very muscular, physical villains, she holds her own as a formidable villain who gets what she wants through seduction and chemistry instead of brute force. While her performance was overshadowed and undermined by incompetent directing and the overall poor performances from her co-stars, Uma Thurman€™s had potential. In a better film or with a better director, Poison Ivy could have seemed like a character ripped right from the pages of a comic book.
