Batman V Superman: 10 Plot Holes That Make No Sense
7. Why Does Lex Luthor Know - Or Care - Who Clark Kent Is?
The third plot hole which occurs within this particularly erroneous party-based scene gave cause for concern in the trailer, but fans gave it the benefit of the doubt - perhaps the full version of the film would explain why Lex Luthor was familiar with a lowly reporter like Clark Kent, or why he'd consider him worthy enough to meet Bruce Wayne, right? Nope: no reason is given as to why Lex Luthor, a genius billionaire with psychotic tendencies, knows who Clark Kent is. Kent isn't famous, after all; he isn't even a particularly well-known journalist. Perry White has Clark writing articles about sports in Batman v Superman, so why the heck would Luthor have anything to do with this guy? Right now, some of you might be thinking: "Well, he introduces him to Bruce Wayne because he knows both of their secret identities, duh! He's setting the stage." Except he doesn't, and he isn't: there is absolutely nothing in the film to back up such a claim. There are so many things wrong with this scene that it hurts the brain to think about.
