Batman V Superman: 10 Reasons Man Of Steel Is Better
8. The Trailer Didn't Ruin (Almost) Everything
Many fans were left fuming when last December's trailer for BvS spoiled the arrival of Doomsday and Wonder Woman, seemingly spelling out how the third act of the movie would go.
Zack Snyder and others attempted to soothe fans, insisting that there was more to it than that, but when the other big, surprising moment (Superman's death) is ultimately hollow (but more on that later), it seems that the major "wow!" beats of the film that actually work have in fact been given away for free.
Man of Steel may have shown off a fair portion of the climactic Zod-Superman fight in trailers, but it crucially kept the biggest and most important beats under wraps, especially the controversial end to the fight (of course) and a lot of the epic hero shots.
Warner are clearly eager to take no risks in marketing BvS as they intend to launch a universe, but did they need to spoil quite so much? And did Snyder really need to lie about how much they gave away?
Marketing shouldn't play into a movie anywhere near as much as it does, but living in the instant-access age of trailers for trailers as we do, it's something of an inevitability.
