Batman V Superman: 10 Theories About Lex Luthor

10. His Creation Is Not Doomsday

So, the latest trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice makes it pretty clear €“ if it wasn€™t already €“ that Jesse Eisenberg€™s Lex Luthor does some scientific meddling with Zod€™s corpse, which Kal-El presumably just left lying around at the end of Man Of Steel. It€™s not too much of a jump to assume that the big grey beast that turns up at the end of the movie is the result of said experimentations. Due to some clear visual similarities, many have quickly assumed this creature is Doomsday, an almost-unstoppable force from the comics. Others, though, aren€™t so sure. Perhaps Lex€™s creation isn€™t Doomsday at all. Perhaps it€™s simply Zod reincarnate, with a new Abomination-like form. Or, as some quarters strongly believe, this monstrous menace could be Wraith, another seriously powerful character from the comics. Wraith €“ who traditionally has something of a red glow beneath a cracked black exterior €“ is actually a hero, not a villain. Heralding from outer space, Wraith predated Superman€™s time on Earth (he arrived in 1938) in the comics, and traditionally uses his powers of enhanced strength, speed and energy manipulation in the employ of the US military. This is best considered a long shot, though, because that much-screenshot still from the trailer of the beast looks much more like Doomsday from here.
