So, rather impressively, the film that basically markets itself as being the worst ever made - and which is at times utterly unwatchable - has outdone Batman v Superman. Fanboys will no doubt call conspiracy on this sort of thing, but in purely scaled terms, The Room is a "better" movie.

Surely that's got to cause some concern at Warner Bros? Or maybe they'll hang on to the fact that the film has transcended into cult and is watched and loved as a sort of consciously bad curio?

Why It Did Better

It's obviously not a better viewing experience, BUT there is something to be said for the way The Room never relies on artifice or attempts to inflate its technicals to misrepresent its quality. In short, The Room never hides the fact that Tommy Wiseau has no idea what he's doing, while Batman v Superman spends two and a half hours insisting Zack Snyder's vision is paramount.

The Lesson For Warner Bros

Just claim it was all a joke anyway and you actually meant it to be bad, or something.
